Real mail for children, personalized with them in it
Story Letters is a monthly watercolor letter from Puff, a little cloud who is still learning his weather. Every story is personalized with your child from one photo, the letter arrives in the mailbox with their name on the envelope, and a card inside lets them write back. Puff's next letter remembers what they said.
The short version
- Launched October 14, 2026 by Stories With Me, a personalized children's book studio in New Hampshire's Upper Valley.
- $12 a month, or a six-letter season for $59. A gift season is also $59.
- For children aged about 3 to 5. No app and no screen; the grown-up sets it up online in about two minutes with the child's name, the address and one photo.
- Each letter is four pages: Puff's hand-lettered opener, the story, personalized with your child in two scenes, a page the family does together, and a question with a QR code so a grown-up can send the child's answer back. Printed on heavy uncoated paper and mailed first class in the US.
- A person checks every portrait and every letter before it prints. If the painting doesn't look like the child, we repaint and resend, free.
- The photo is uploaded only by the child's parent or guardian and is deleted 30 days after the portrait is approved.
The founder
Nate Fournier builds Stories With Me from Lebanon, New Hampshire, alongside a career in finance. In his words:
The best mail I ever got as a kid had my name on it. I'm not yet a parent. I built the thing I'd have wanted in my own mailbox at four, and my friends who have kids are always looking for things that hold a child's attention and keep them off screens that get more invasive every year.

How the pictures are made
The likeness is painted by an AI image model from the parent's photo, in Puff's watercolor style, and then reviewed by a person against the photo before anything prints. We say so on the product page and will say so to anyone who asks.
We think this is the right job for AI. Not another screen in a child's hands, but a way to make something for one child that could never be made by hand at this price: a watercolor of them inside a story, a question only they can answer, and a next letter that remembers what they said. The technology stays behind the curtain. What the child gets is paper, an envelope with their name on it, and a reason to read, to write back, and to watch the mailbox.
