These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of storieswithme.com and trystorieswithme.com (the "Sites"). By using the Sites, you agree to these Terms. If you purchase a book, the Terms of Sale also apply.

1. Who may use the Sites

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Sites, create an account, upload a photo, or place an order. The Sites are intended for adults; they are not directed to children, and children may not use them. By using the Sites you confirm you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@storieswithme.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Your child's photo and likeness (license and your representations)

When you upload a photo to request a preview or order a book, you grant Stories With Me a limited, revocable, royalty-free license to use that photo and the child's likeness solely to create the preview or book you request, and to retain the resulting illustration in our records so we can reprint it. This license does not permit — and we will not — use the photo or likeness to train or develop any artificial-intelligence model, sell or license it to anyone, or use it for advertising, except with your separate, explicit consent.

You represent that:

you are the parent or legal guardian of the child shown in the photo, or you have the express permission of the child's parent or legal guardian to provide it and to grant the permissions in this section on their behalf;
you have the right to upload the photo and to grant the license and right-of-publicity permission above; and
uploading the photo does not violate the rights of any person.

You may withdraw this license and ask us to delete the photo at any time by contacting hello@storieswithme.com; we will stop using it going forward, except where a book has already been produced or shipped. You agree to indemnify Stories With Me against any claim arising from a breach of these representations.

4. Other content you submit

Any other content you submit (such as messages, dedications, or feedback) must be your own or properly licensed, and you grant us a license to use it to operate and provide the Sites. You are responsible for what you submit.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

upload a photo of any child without the express permission of that child's parent or legal guardian;
use the Sites to exploit or harm a minor, or to collect a child's personal information;
upload unlawful, infringing, hateful, or harmful content;
interfere with, probe, or attempt to breach the security of the Sites; or
use the Sites' content or any AI-generated illustration outside the license we grant you.

6. Our intellectual property

The Sites, our book templates, written story text, brand, and the "Stories With Me" and "Character Compass" names and logos are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-commercial license to use the Sites and the products you purchase for your family's own use. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit our content.

7. AI-generated illustrations

Illustrations are created with the help of artificial intelligence and are an artistic approximation of your child's appearance, not a photographic reproduction. We review every illustration before your book is printed, and we may ask you to review or approve the illustration before printing.

8. Third-party links and services

The Sites may link to or rely on third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices; their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them.

9. Disclaimers

The Sites are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Sites will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stories With Me will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Sites. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Sites or a product will not exceed the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to the claim (or, if none, $100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stories With Me and its officers, employees, and agents from claims arising out of your use of the Sites, your content or uploads, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Sites or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
